Learn & Lunch with NIUVT: Undersea Technology Research, Technology Transition, and Workforce Development

This event is open to NMC Members only.

Join us on the Avery Point Campus for a meet and greet with our Community Partner The National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology on April 21st from 11 am - 1 pm. (See email we will send the 20th for parking details.)

In the first half of our time together, NIUVT's Dr. Rich Christenson will share how the National Institute of Undersea Vehicle Technology can help companies like yours research, prototype, and transition undersea vehicle technology through the use of senior projects, applied research projects, fellowships, and partnering on SBIRs/STTRs. You'll learn about their previous success stories and how they are bringing ideas to life by continuing to build collaboration between academia, government and industry in pursuit of rapidly advancing undersea vehicle technologies.

In the second half, we will enjoy a meal together as we ask our questions, get to know one another, and network a little in a small group setting.

About NIUVT

The National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT) is a partnership between the University of Connecticut (UConn), University of Rhode Island (URI) and General Dynamics Electric Boat (EB) to enhance performance and reduce costs of the shipbuilding process while ensuring that advanced technologies are implemented into the next generation and next platform of undersea vehicles. NIUVT builds upon the experience and expertise of EB, UConn and URI to engage in research, technology transition, and workforce development. Through these activities, NIUVT will develop the personnel and knowledge needed to accelerate critical research and enhance U.S. superiority in submarine and other undersea vehicle technologies.
